Content

The child’s immune system often fails to cope with viral infections, as a result of which doctors prescribe medicines that can support immunity and speed up recovery. One of them is called Imunofan. In children, this drug is often used in the form of candles. When are they shown to children and how do they act on the child's body?

Release form

Rectal suppositories Imunofan have a homogeneous structure, a torpedo shape, a slight peculiar odor and a white or white-yellow tint. One pack includes 5 or 10 such candles. The drug is produced in other forms - solution for injections (subcutaneous or intramuscular) and nasal spray.

The main component of the candle is called arginyl-alpha-aspartyl-lysyl-valyl-tyrosyl-arginine. Its dosage in one suppository is 100 mcg. Auxiliary ingredients in this form of the drug are glycine, a compound tween-80, purified water and solid fat.

Operating principle

The drug has the ability to adjust the work of the immune system, but in addition to the immunoregulatory action of the candle also:

  • Stimulate the neutralization of harmful compounds formed during oxidative reactions.
  • They have a detoxification effect by increasing the production of ceruloplasmin and other substances.
  • They prevent the destruction of phospholipids in cell membranes.
  • They protect the liver cells, preventing their death during infections or toxic effects.
  • They lower the level of bilirubin and cholesterol, as well as the activity of liver enzymes.
  • Prevent the development of resistance to medical treatment.

The effect of the use of the drug appears several hours after the suppository is injected and lasts up to 4 months.
