Treatment of enuresis in children folk remedies

Content

Bedwetting or daytime incontinence is a common, unpleasant and very traumatic problem. The psyche of the child can significantly suffer because of these "surprises". The task of the parents - without exacerbating the situation, without scolding him for the wet bed, to quickly help the child cope with enuresis. To the aid will come the folk remedies, tested by time and by many generations now adults.

Symptoms and signs

Urinary incontinence can have many causes - both congenital and acquired. Underdevelopment of the bladder, overwork, hypothermia, infectious diseases, psychological and neurological problems. Not least among the causes of enuresis is the lack of a normal diet.

Usually the baby is written either closer to midnight or in the morning. In the first case, the bladder relaxes too much when it falls asleep, in the second it is quite strong and does not expand to the full necessary extent as it is filled, as a result, an uncontrolled release of fluid occurs naturally outwards. Quite rarely enuresis occurs in the daytime, at midday sleep.

Most often, children suffering from enuresis, sleep much stronger than others. And usually they do not remember in the morning what happened at night. You can wake them up in the middle of the night, although it is quite problematic to do this, plant them in a pot, but the result will be unchanged - the baby will not write until he is in his bed again.

When folk methods can not do?

  • If incontinence is caused by tumor processes and dysfunctions of the central nervous system.
  • If enuresis is a consequence of more serious causes associated with inflammation of the bladder, with kidney ailments.
  • If the inability to control the bladder is a hereditary factor.

In this program, the children's doctor will tell you about children's enuresis, as well as if the cause of the “wet pants” is of a neurological nature.

Effective folk remedies

  • Cotton swab on the back. Take a small piece of cotton wool, wet it with warm water and guide the child along the spine several times from top to bottom (from the base of the neck to the tailbone). Then put a dry T-shirt on him and send him to sleep. Such an incredible and inexplicable, from the point of view of medicine, the way works very well. In most babies, enuresis disappears in the first 2-3 days. The method is effective for incontinence caused by nerve shocks, stress.
  • Dill seeds. A tablespoon of dried dill seeds brew in a glass of boiling water. Insist at least 2-3 hours, after which give the kids half a cup in the morning before breakfast on an empty stomach, and children from 10 years old - for a whole glass.
  • Lingonberry leaves and berries. Dry leaves cowberry (about 50 grams) brew in half a liter can of boiling water. Then boil the liquid for 10-15 minutes. Insist, cool and strain. Giving a child such a drink is desirable in the morning on an empty stomach, and then before eating every half an hour. The total number of daily intakes is no more than 4. A single dose depends on age. Babies are usually given half a glass, older children are given a whole glass. As a result, during the day the child will be somewhat more likely to go to the toilet more often, and at night his bed will remain dry.

Lingonberry berries are great for preparing fruit drinks, which should be given 2-3 times a day, but not before bedtime.

  • Honey therapy. If the baby is written at night, then before bedtime he can be given a teaspoon of honey, of course, if the child is not allergic. This beekeeping product soothes, relaxes the nervous system and retains moisture. Gradually, the evening dose of honey should be reduced as the child recovers.
  • Parsley root. Chop the dried parsley root and make a decoction. Let it stand for about an hour. A child is given a drink of 2-3 tablespoons per day with the last dose - at least five hours before bedtime.
  • Hardening Pour in a bath or basin of cold water in an amount that is enough to immerse only the feet of the child in the ankle. Let the baby tread in cold water until it starts to freeze. Then put it on massage Mat or ordinary hard bath mat rooms and let him walk on it until his feet are warm. The procedure is best done in the morning.
  • Physiotherapy. Try to make gymnastics compulsory exercise in the daily routine of the baby. Add to it exercises related to strengthening the muscles of the perineum - walking on the buttocks. In a sitting position on the floor, ask the baby to move forward, pushing only with the buttocks. First forward and then back.
  • Warm compresses with ginger water. Grate the ginger, squeeze the juice from the resulting mass through the gauze and mix with a glass of boiled water, which has cooled to 60-70 degrees. Carefully dip the edge of the towel in it and apply it on the lower abdomen, in the area of the bladder, until the skin at this place turns red. Such warming up with ginger juice perfectly relaxes the tense bladder and strengthens an overly relaxed organ as effectively.
  • Bread and salt. Before bed for half an hour, give your baby a small slice of bread, sprinkled with salt. In the same way, small pieces of salted herring are given to children.
  • Plantain leaves. 20 grams of dried leaves of the plantain need to be brewed in a glass of boiling water, let it brew properly, strain and water the child with the liquid 2-3 times a day.
  • Onion-honey mixture. Grate one onion and mix the resulting gruel with a tablespoon of floral honey and half a green apple, grated on a fine grater. Mixture give the child about two weeks on a tablespoon before each meal on an empty stomach. The mixture can not be stored, before each use it should be prepared again.
  • Lavrushka. Boil three large bay leaves and boil for half an hour in a liter of water. Cool, let it brew well, and let the child drink the resulting half or three times a cup 2-3 times a day for a week.
  • Thyme and yarrow. Take in equal shares dried pharmaceutical herbs and brew in the form of tea. Water the child 2-3 times a day, a tablespoon. Children over 8 years old can be given a quarter of a glass.

When do you need specialist help?

  • If bedwetting is accompanied by private day trips to the toilet and complaints of painful urination.
  • If the child complains of pain in the lower abdomen, in the side, or pulling sensations in the lower back.
  • If enuresis began to repeat in a child over 10 years old.

What can not be done?

  • Some parents and healers are advised to use the elements of hypnosis to treat childhood enuresis. In the stage of paradoxical sleep (when the baby has not yet fallen asleep, but no longer awake, his eyes are sticking together) the child is made certain verbal suggestions and attitudes. Experts categorically do not recommend unprepared people to use any tools from the psychotherapy arsenal. At best, it will not have any effect, at worst - a negative impact on the psyche and nervous system of the baby.
  • Do not start incontinence treatment without consulting a doctor. The cause of enuresis should definitely be found, because incontinence can be a manifestation of serious and dangerous diseases of the urinary tract, disorders of hormone production of antidiuretic action, delayed development of the central nervous system.
  • You can not leave enuresis without attention and treat him lightly. Yes, there are those parents who insist that bedwetting is an age-related and temporary phenomenon, and will pass by itself. If you do not provide the child with timely medical care, enuresis threatens to turn into severe hysteria, mental disorders, prolonged depression and the formation of a persistent inferiority complex in a child. And if you "overlook" the beginning inflammation in the urinary tract, the infection can develop into a chronic form, become complicated, and then you will have to be treated for the rest of your life.

Tips

  1. If the baby is written, give it to the sports section, to the dance, where you need to move a lot and intensively. It is the movement that will remove the muscle clamps, allow to relax at a different level at night.
  2. If enuresis is caused by overwork, prolonged nervous stress, make sure that the child slept solely on its side. And in order not to guard the crumbs all night, tie two towels around the body of the child. Nodes should be on the back and stomach, then the child will be uncomfortable to lie in any position except on the side. Such dressings usually do not last long, the habit of sleeping on the side is formed within a week.
  3. To reduce the risk of occurrence, diapers should be completely discarded at the age of two. It is better if this happens earlier, because only after such a “exit from the comfort zone” the baby will begin to learn how to control his urination.
  4. Do not bring stressful situations to enuresis. Conflicts and problems are better extinguished and resolved immediately, without delay. With increased nervous excitement, give the child soothing teas, light vegetable sedatives, show your child to a child psychologist and psychiatrist. Particular attention should be paid to the emotions of the child in "transitional" periods - when he begins to attend kindergarten, school, if the family moves, changes his place of residence, during the divorce of parents, the appearance of another child in the family, and so on.
  5. Good prevention - timely schooling the baby to the pot. In no case should you do too soon, but you shouldn’t delay it either. The optimal age at which a child is able to learn to control his urination without extra strain is from 1 year and 8 months to 2 years.
  6. Watch carefully for the amount of fluid your baby consumes. Limit drinking after six in the evening.
  7. Be patient. Some forms of bedwetting can be very complex, and treatment will require much more time and effort from the parents and the child.
