From January 1, 2019, the maximum monthly child care benefit will increase to 26 thousand rubles.
Parents of kids waiting for a nice New Year's "surprise" - the amount of the monthly allowance for the care of a child under one and a half years and maternity pay will be increased. The increase is expected to be quite substantial. This was reported by the press service of the Federal Social Insurance Fund of Russia.
The size of maternity payments will increase - the minimum payment will be 4,500 rubles (previously it was 4,400 rubles), and the maximum - 301 thousand rubles (this year the amount was 282 thousand rubles).
It all depends on what were mom's earnings. If the salary was not there or it was low, the benefit is charged on the minimum wage (the minimum wage from the new year will increase to 11,280 rubles).
The largest allowance will be available to women who can provide data on good income for the last two years before maternity leave (for 2017 and 2018 respectively).
The amount of the monthly allowance, which is paid to women on maternity leave until the baby reaches the age of one and a half years, thus will be increased from 24 thousand rubles to 26 thousand 152 rubles.
The funds are accrued by the Social Insurance Fund at the place of work of the woman, where she receives benefits. For the unemployed, the benefit is accrued by social services.
Previously proposed extend this benefit until the child is three years old, but so far the initiative has not found legislative support.
In the summer, the Romir Foundation for Public Opinion provided data on how much time Russian women prefer to sit with their babies at home. The study showed that most mothers prefer to go to work before the decree ends, because there is not enough money to live on. Half of mothers prefer to stay with their children at home up to two years. And only 4.5% of women expressed a desire to sit with a child after 3 years and not go to work.
