16-year-old schoolgirl with a disability claims to receive the Nobel Peace Prize

16-year-old schoolgirl living with Asperger's syndrome, Greta Thunberg was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The girl, despite her young age, is known as an active fighter for the environment, with the world's largest politicians on equal footing.

The decision to nominate her for the prestigious award was made by the deputies of the Swedish parliament.

It all started with the fact that last summer, Greta held a single picket, demanding that politicians around the world fulfill the conditions of the Paris Treaty to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The girl went to the pickets as if on a schedule — every Friday, she sat outside the Swedish parliament with a poster in her hands. Then adherents and peers joined the teenager, and a single picket led to large-scale demonstrations in support of the planet’s ecology around the world.

Gretta Thunberg herself told reporters that she was pleasantly surprised and amazed by the news of her nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Greta’s actions led to the creation of a youth informal school environmental organization. In February of this year, the girl led a large school strike to protect the climate on Earth. More than four thousand people gathered on the streets of Berlin. Angela Merkel met with Greta, after which similar actions took place in some European countries.

In the beginning of March 16-year-old girl recognized as a woman of the year in Sweden.

The diagnosis does not prevent the girl from actively pursuing social life, she does so in spite of the illness. Asperger syndrome is a severe disorder of mental development, in which a person experiences significant difficulties in social interaction.

The disease is considered a schizoid disorder of childhood, in many respects similar to autism. The causes of the development of the disease are not clear. There is no specific treatment.
