After a 4-minute cardiac arrest, the British woman gave birth to a healthy baby.

Kelly Evans, who is now 37 years old, was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome as a teenager: with this heart abnormality, there are heart rhythm disturbances.

Usually, the woman was saved by exercises for relaxation and breathing, and medical assistance was not needed, since the symptoms most often were rapid heartbeat, dizziness and shortness of breath.

But at the 23rd week of pregnancy, these exercises did not help her, and she lost consciousness. Kelly's husband Gareth called an ambulance, but there were no available cars at that moment, so volunteer Stephanie came to them. With the help of a defibrillator, she was able to restore Kelly's heart to work. Overall, cardiac arrest lasted as long as 4 minutes.

I had to have an operation on my heart, I managed to keep the pregnancy. After 4 months, Kelly gave birth to the girl Ava, full-term and completely healthy.

The happy family of Evans very much wants to find Stephanie and tell her many thanks, because, as Gareth says, without her courage, professionalism and calm there wouldn’t be a wife or baby now, and the two-year-old son Bobby would have remained without mommy.

It’s good that there are many good people and volunteers in our lives who often work much more efficiently than specialized help services.
