US senators will be able to take on the meetings of their newborn babies

Members of the United States Senate may officially be allowed to bring with them to meetings little children.

The Senate of Congress received a resolution. It implies the possibility for members of the upper chamber to sit with babies in their arms if necessary.

The author of the initiative is Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, who gave birth to a daughter on April 9th. After giving birth, the woman decided to use the right of a three-month vacation, but she still intends to come to important Senate ballots, and together with a newborn baby.

Since no children had appeared in the Senate before, the senator-mother decided to make sure her visits to work were fully legal.

In her petition, Tammy noted that the meetings last for several hours, and babies cannot remain so long without mothers.

Other senators supported the idea, but stressed that the resolution would concern only children under 1 year.

Dakuort herself is a very interesting person.

She is 50 years old, a woman is a veteran of the war in Iraq. In 2004 she lost both legs as a result of the crash of a helicopter shot down during the fighting. The senator is moved by prostheses.

But neither this fact nor age did not prevent her from becoming a mother. In addition, Tammy became the first senator in the history of the United States to give birth to a baby during his term of office.
