Pregnant Minister of Women's Affairs of New Zealand went to the hospital by bicycle

Women around the world were struck by the act of 38-year-old Julie Ann Genter, Minister for Women's Affairs in the Government of New Zealand.

At 42 weeks pregnant lady minister went to give birth on a bicycle.

She got to the maternity hospital without any problems, “parked” her two-wheeled vehicle and immediately went to the hospital, since the birth had already begun.

Julie Ann Genter is known throughout the country not only as a defender of women's interests, but also as an active ecologist, head of the local branch of the Green Party. It always and everywhere promotes bicycle transport, because it is fast, healthy and does not poison the environment with its existence.

By personal example, the New Zealand minister showed that with contractions it is quite possible to control yourself and to hold in your hands not only yourself, but also the handlebars. From home to the hospital, she covered almost 12 kilometers. On the trip, she was accompanied by her husband, who on that occasion also mounted a bicycle.

A support group for women in labor (and in clinics in the country it is customary to give birth to all relatives, if the relatives have a desire to be present) went, however, by car.

Exposure and courage of the pregnant minister struck Internet users all over the world, as the snapshot instantly circled the Web.

Genter became the second woman politician who gave birth during this year. In June, the country's prime minister, Jasinda Ardern, gave birth to a girl, and she almost went into labor from parliament, working to the last. Within a month and a half after giving birth, Jasinda began work again.

The current heroine, Julie Ann Genter, plans to sit with her newborn son for at least three months, and then her husband will deal with the child (as in the family of the Prime Minister), and Julie herself will return to work.

The birth was good, the woman is in excellent physical shape, doctors said. It is not reported yet how the solemn departure of the mother with the baby will take place - by bike or by car.
