The long-awaited son: a childless Italian couple adopted a 32-year-old Belarusian
Exactly 20 years delayed the adoption of the Italian infertile couple.
They planned to accept an orphan boy to their family. And they took, but only after the orphan 32 years old.
For the first time, a Belarusian boy came to Italy under a program of charitable assistance to children, immigrants from regions affected by the Chernobyl accident. Then he was 11 years.
Since then, every summer he came to visit the Italian family, with whom he became friends, and corresponded with them throughout the year.
The Italian spouses did not have their children, and gradually the boy became almost like them.
However, the issue of adoption was postponed - at first the Italian court did not give it permission, then the Russian side.
The boy gradually became an adult, found a job, got married. All this time, the elderly Italians did not lose hope of resolving the issue of the official status of the Belarusian, and only now the court of Trento gave them permission for adoption.
Similar precedents in the world have not yet happened. Now the Belarusian is considered the official son of the couple, has the right to live in Italy, as well as the inheritance.
