Shaggy doctor: Labradors help doctors treat children in Chile

In Chile, they decided to employ unusual doctors in the clinics - shaggy and quadrupeds. Dog therapists already started to work in dentists.

Children come to the doctor with the Labradors. The dog is always with the little patient relieving his pain and taking off the fear.

Especially effective is dog help for autistic children who are afraid of bright lights and loud sounds.

It is planned that in the future, shaggy "therapists" will come to a permanent job. in oncological, trauma and surgical hospitals.

So far, the experiment only covers Santiago, but the list of Chilean cities, where dogs and therapists will help the children and doctors, is planned to be expanded.

Dog help and the amazing effect of animal proximity on children have long been noticed and appreciated by doctors all over the world.

So, spaniels, collie and labradors have long been "working" in the US healthcare system, France. In England, several Spaniels work in ambulance.

And in Italy even labradors are trusted postoperative care for children. It is believed that the dog who will be constantly with the operated child is the best quick stimulator, because it gives positive emotions, does not let the kid get bored.

In the Russian public health, dogs are not yet allowed to undergo the treatment process.

But within the framework of alternative medicine they help children with autism, cerebral palsy. They contribute to the socialization of children with disabilities and children with special needs.

It is possible that, following the example of foreign colleagues, Russian doctors will also begin to attract four-legged in pediatrics and dentistry.
