An outbreak of measles due to a family that was not inculcated for religious reasons was recorded in Chita

A large large family in Chita was hospitalized with suspected measles.

In total, there are 17 children in the family; currently, eight of them are in the infectious diseases hospital. The question of the need to hospitalize the rest is still being addressed.

The chief freelance infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health of the region, Elena Veselova, reported that children in this family were not vaccinated for religious reasons.

In a large house live several generations of the same family - children, grandchildren. All generations refuse vaccination, citing the fact that vaccinations contradict the naturalness given above.

Over the past few days, dozens of people have been in contact with the members of this family, and therefore doctors seriously fear measles epidemic.

Infectiologists are already well acquainted with vaccination dissidents from this family. A few years ago, the entire family in full force had contracted rubella.

Measles - the disease is incredibly infectious, you can only protect yourself from it by vaccination. If no vaccinations are given, both the adult and the child become infected if they come in contact with the sick person. with a probability of 100%.

The measles virus can even spread on ventilation pipes and elevator shafts.

The infectious doctors came to this conclusion when they analyzed the incidence among children - sometimes different children from different floors of the same house fell ill and did not contact each other.

Measles is manifested by fever and a characteristic skin rash. Its complications are dangerous, among them - meningitis, meningoencephalitis and other severe damage to internal organs, which can lead to the death of the child or his disability.

The main confessions are Islam, Orthodoxy, Catholicism and Buddhism. do not prohibit vaccinations, although they are reserved.

As a rule, due to religious beliefs, only members of certain sects represented on the territory of Russia refuse vaccination.

But in our country there is freedom of religion, and no doctor will go against refusal for reasons of faith. Fact that failure of one parent to vaccinate increases the probability of an epidemicin which other children will be dragged in, usually dissidents are not sobering.
