There are many such cases throughout the country. And sometimes the child really turns into Mowgli, communicating only with animals. In psychiatry, there is even a special concept - “Mowgli syndrome”. The worst thing is that the changes that occur with the psyche of an abandoned child are usually irreversible.

A decade and a half ago, everyone was shocked the story of the Podolsk boy Viti, who was raised by a dog from one and a half to five years. The mother was in his life, she even gave him food, but the child did not see the attention, education, petting her, but she saw it from the dog.

When the child was found, he walked on all fours, howled at night, was afraid of people, did not speak. Mother deprived of parental rights. The child was sent to a foster family. Parents who leave children abandoned don't always want to bring them up, sometimes they just can't say psychologists of the Department of Child Psychiatry of the Russian Medical Academy in Moscow. The reasons for this behavior moms may lie in mental illness, in alcohol, drugs. Sometimes, as in Kirov, it is worth talking about the psychological immaturity and unreadiness of a woman for motherhood. This is the answer to the question of why a woman gave birth - she just counted on the father of the child, overestimated her strength.
