Premature babies are able to hear mom's voice in a dream

Kids hurried to come into the world more sensitive to maternal voice.

This conclusion was made by American scientists, who confirmed their statements with the results of the experiment.

Ronald Shervin, a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, found with a group of like-minded people that premature babies listen to their mother’s voice even when they sleep, and the quality of their sleep suffers — babies often wake up and have longer waking periods.

27 babies from the first group of subjects were born at 33-35 weeks of pregnancy. Moms were asked to read excerpts from fairy tales, recorded audio files, and included children who slept peacefully in incubators for premature babies.

Scientists watched carefully sleep and activity cycles, as well as each baby did electroencephalogram.

All babies have a fast sleep phase.

In children who were born before the 35th week of pregnancy, this reaction to the mother's voice is not observed.

The results will form the basis of a large-scale study. deep connection between mothers and their newborns.

Scientists advise parents of premature babies to observe silence while the baby is sleeping, because it is more sensitive and may not chronically sleep.
