Child benefits are exempt from bank commission

Since January 8, 2019, the law on the exemption of child benefits from bank commissions entered into force in Russia. Credit organizations literally "tied hands" - banks will not be able to charge commissions from cash received on the parents' accounts for the birth of their first child.

The document was developed by a group of Russian senators under the leadership of Valery Ryazansky, chairman of the social policy committee. The corresponding order last year was given by the speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.

The need for such a law became apparent after the presidential demographic programs came into force. Residents of many regions began to complain that banks charged a fee for paying for the birth of their first child. Wherein the amount of the fee varied from 1 to 1.5% in different regions and in different credit institutions.

Over the past year, banks on such a commission earned about 300 million rubles of net profit.

The state of affairs angered senators, and they quickly drafted a document that received approval from the Government, the State Duma and the President of the country.

Now it is strictly forbidden to charge a fee for child allowance. Parents will receive the amount prescribed by law, without any deductions.

If suddenly moms and dads face a violation of the law and the requirements of the bank to pay commission fees, for example, for withdrawing children's allowance from the account or transferring the allowance to an account to another bank, then you can feel free to contact the prosecutor - henceforth such requirements of credit institutions are outside the law.
