“Diaskintest” will be studied in Roszdravnadzor and Rospotrebnadzor after cases of hospitalization of children

In a number of cities, for example, in St. Petersburg, the use of Diaskintest, a drug used to diagnose tuberculosis in children, which replaced the Mantoux test, has been temporarily suspended. This was done after children massively complained of indisposition after vaccination.

After a routine examination for tuberculosis with the introduction of Diaskintest at school No. 72, 11 children were hospitalized at the children's hospital, a few dozen other schoolchildren complained of dizziness, weakness and indisposition.

Previously, mass syncope after the introduction of "Diaskintest" were recorded in another school in St. Petersburg - school number 730. Prior to this, students from one of the Irkutsk schools faced a similar incident.

The sanitary-epidemiological investigation began. In Rospotrebnadzor suggest that it is possible that there has been a fact of violation of the requirements for transportation and storage of the drug. But this is still only one of the versions. Another version is considered on a par with it - possible mistakes made by drug manufacturers in the production of a certain batch.

At the time of the investigation, as well as a careful study of the samples of the drug administered, use of Diaskintest was temporarily suspended by the decision of the territorial directorates of Rospotrebnadzor.

Recall, for the first time, the introduction of “Diaskintest” instead of the Mantoux test was started at the congress of phthisiatricians, which was held in 2013 in Moscow. Immediately, the drug caused ambiguous assessments of doctors - some were convinced that it was necessary for mass use, others claimed that it was introduced only as a major government purchase, which in itself does not have anything to do with the health of millions of children.

Practicing doctors called on a par with the use of Diaskintest to leave Mantoux for mass screening, since the new drug often does not reveal the initial latent forms of tuberculosis, giving a false-negative result.

Since 2014, the Ministry of Health has nevertheless officially recommended to abandon the Mantoux test in favor of Diaskintest for all Russian children aged 7 to 17 years.
