Experts explain why you should not give your child to school before 7 years

Moms and dads should not seek to identify a child to school under 7 years old (at 6.5 years old and even younger).

This opinion was expressed and substantiated by specialists from the Institute of Age-related Physiology of the Russian Academy of Education. The director of this science center, Mariana Bezrukikh, urged parents not to rush into teaching a child.

The law "On Education in Russia" allows parents to decide for themselves when they take their son or daughter to first grade, Minimum age - 6.5 years. Experts in the field of age physiology argue that it is best to send a child to school from 7.5 years, and sometimes from 8.5 years.

They carefully studied the issue and came to the conclusion that children who are sent to school at 6.5 are sick more often, study less well, get tired more and have little interest in additional education. The load that starts from first class beyond six-year-oldsexperts believe.

Even if a child can read and write, no need to hurry, because, psychologically and physiologically, the kid is not ready for a hard school rhythm.

The study was conducted in 15 Russian regions.

It affected 60 thousand children aged 6-7 years. A detailed study of the issue showed that about 50% of the children who were brought to the first grade, have unformed speech, and in 30% of children - insufficiently developed motor and emotional development.

Mariana Bezrukikh and her team of child psychologists are ready for school. They consider a child who has sufficient assiduity and is able to memorize, record new information and emotionally comprehend it after 40 minutes of quiet, sedentary activity.

Such children at the age of 6.5 years, according to statistics, alas, no more than 5%.
