China has banned women from requesting a pregnancy test when applying for a job

The authorities of the Middle Kingdom "become generous" on the law, which the entire female part of the population had been waiting for a long time. In the country by law forbidden to require women to do a pregnancy test when applying for a jobIt was decided to exclude all questions to the ladies regarding their marital status, personal life, number of children and plans for childbirth in the future.

Heads of enterprises and companies are strictly forbidden to draw conclusions about the job seeker for a particular position, based on gender differences. And the compulsory medical examination, which all Chinese job seekers undergo, was exempted from a gynecologist's examination and pregnancy tests.

Large fines are envisaged for violators of the new law - their initial size is from 10,000 yuan (this is about 100,000 rubles for Russian rubles). The maximum fine is 50,000 yuan (half a million Russian rubles). If, after paying the fine, the director of the organization does not change his mind and continues to discriminate against women, the company will lose its license.

In recent years, China has become rapidly decrease the number of working women. The World Bank estimated that in 1990, 73% of Chinese women worked, and now only 61%. Experts attributed this to the unfair and too strict attitude of employers towards women - many companies introduced rules that implied automatic dismissal and a substantial fine for a lady who would become pregnant without the permission of the management. In this regard, the number of abortions has increased, and the number of working women has also decreased.
