Crimean sanatoriums in emergency mode accept children from Armyansk polluted by chemical emissions

About a thousand places allocated Crimean sanatoriums to accommodate children from the city of Armyansk, where there was a release of harmful and hazardous chemicals.

The decision was made for two weeks to evacuate all the children and place them in the sanatoriums of the Krasnodar Territory and the Crimea.

The Ministry of Health thanks all the recreational facilities that responded to the call for help. All children from the affected city will rest at the expense of the state.

For adult residents of Armyansk they decided to open a round-the-clock pharmacy in which they will issue free cotton-gauze dressings.

The investigative committee opened a criminal case on the fact of release. Now there is an investigation and establishment of all the circumstances of the incident.

The titanium plant where the accident happened was temporarily stopped. According to the preliminary version, excess of sulfurous anhydride happened due to an accident on the acid accumulator. There is a version that the cause of the evaporation of a dangerous substance was the anomalous heat, which is dominated by the Crimea. The perpetrators of the incident are established.

Sulfurous anhydride is dangerous, especially for children. It causes swelling of the lungs, upper respiratory tract, systemic poisoning, enlargement of the heart. If gas enters the clouds, acid rain may occur.
