Tatyana Golikova noted that the government is following the demographic situation with alarm, and at the moment, alas, abouton not developing in the best way. Therefore, the extension of the matkapital program could be a significant support for families who can not decide on a second child.

Experts are currently predicting a serious demographic failure.

Maternity capital was introduced in 2007. To obtain a certificate, have the right to a family in which the second or subsequent child is born, or if the second child is adopted. But you can get a certificate only once.

Matkapital funds can be spent on improving housing conditions, on the education of children, on the formation of the funded part of the mother’s pension in the future, and also on the purchase of rehabilitation facilities for children with disabilities.

In 2018, the amount of the certificate is equal to 453 thousand rubles. Next year the amount is planned to be indexed.
