One million rubles for good knowledge: winners of school competitions will be awarded prizes for children

Cash prizes for talented Russian schoolchildren, who were able to win in school competitions at the international level, must be entered as soon as possible. This instruction was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Documentation must be prepared before February 1, 2019.

The prizes will be paid by the end of 2018, that is, their children will receive, who in the past year were able to win at international school competitions in general education subjects.

The size of the award for schoolchildren is impressive. The first place and the gold medal of the Olympiad will bring the student 1 million rubles. Silver medal and second place - 500 thousand rubles. Bronze and third place - 400 thousand rubles.

It is noteworthy that teachers will have a significant incentive to prepare schoolchildren better, because the subject teacher of the winner of the international Olympiad will also receive an award, and its size will be equal to the size of the nursery: if a student has become the winner of a physics competition (or other subject), then he and his physics teacher, who helped prepare for participation, will be transferred a million rubles each.

The procedure and terms of payment will be prescribed in the law until March 30, 2019.

For cash bonuses can provide a purpose, which will primarily be aimed at meeting the educational needs of the child. For example, a winner of the international Olympiad will be able to send a million rubles to his further education in the best universities of the country, internships, as well as to his own scientific research. Teachers will be able to use the award to re-equip classes, purchase new equipment needed for deeper and more serious teaching of the subject.

The money will be allocated from the federal budget, and the government has already provided for this. Next year, children and their mentors, who won the international school competitions in 2018, will be the first to receive prizes.
