Russian young families with children run the risk of becoming beggars

Young families with children threatens poverty and even poverty. These risks are significantly higher than similar risks for the elderly. This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development of the Russian Federation Alexei Vovchenko.

Such a statement he made in Sochi at the investment forum. Vovchenko assessed the risks of impoverishment for young parents with babies as "extremely, tremendously high." The official emphasized that all state and social support measures (allowances, payments) are aimed specifically at young people, but they do not cover the true financial needs of young families.

A year ago, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development estimated the risks of becoming poorer a little differently. Then the families in which they grow up and are brought up are in the “risk” group. schoolchildren. Then financial experts assumed that the government of the country would increase the amount of benefits specifically for families with such children.

Based on the poverty risk forecasts of the Ministry of Labor, a strategy of state support is planned.

As early as December 2017, the Center for Economic and Political Reforms stated that the situation with the ratio of incomes and expenses of Russians is tense. And the most vulnerable now are pensioners and people raising young children.

To support young families this year introduced new allowances for the birth of the first and second babies.

But they are intended only for those whose children were born on January 1, 2018 and later. In the high-risk group in terms of poverty, there are families in which the child is a year, two years, three years old, and so on. They are not entitled to new benefits.

With regard to pensioners, they stress in the Ministry of Labor, the government will fulfill all the obligations previously assumed.
