Christmas gifts for children went up by 24%

A fortnight before the New Year, parents began to actively buy children's gifts. Large retail chains selling children's products note a very high demand for dolls, cars, designers, robots and sweets. Prices for these goods, according to the operators of the statistical site of Sberbank's fiscal data, have crept upwards. Toys went up in two weeks of December by 15%, and sweets and even more - by 24%.

The average bill from a children's store is now 1060 rubles. Bank experts believe that the rise in prices will continue, and in the last week of the outgoing year the average check will be at least 2,000 rubles. These estimates are very approximate.

The most popular are the sweet sets, and they are much more expensive than toys and games. For 500 grams of candy in a cloth bag with New Year's symbols, parents, according to the fiscal department of the bank, pay at least 650 rubles, and a larger gift (from a kilogram of sweets) costs 1200-1400 rubles.

At the same time, statistical experts at a financial institution point out that parents became more generous this year than they were in the past - they started spending more on New Year's toys and sweets for children, and not just because prices are rising. The number of items in the check increased by 1.5 times.
