"They are stupid!": Olympic champion insulted children

The name of the two-time Olympic champion in fencing 2016 Yana Egoryan does not leave these news feeds these days. But the athlete has become famous not for a new professional achievement, but for by saying about children.

The 24-year-old swordsman called the children “stupid”, answering a question from journalists about whether she would like to become a children's trainer after completing her career.

She stated that the trainer would not be in any way, despite her quite tolerable attitude towards children, since she believes that children are stupid. Realizing that she had said something offensive, Yana recovered, noting that they are stupid in a good sense of the word (I wonder how this is?).

To top it off, the champion shared her concerns about her future (in perspective) of motherhood. She noted that she was wary of this idea and was not ready to become a mother in principle.

This, as you know, cannot be returned, and therefore Yana coach Sergei Semin had to justify himself for the words about “stupid children”. He explained that Yana did not want to offend anyone, she simply “expressed herself unsuccessfully,” and asked the parents of the whole country and the whole world just ignore her words.

He also noted that Egoryan herself at the beginning of her classes was also rather stupid, and with her the coaching staff had to suffer a great deal. She didn’t just not know Russian (she spoke only Armenian), but she was constantly lost in the city - on the way to practice or on the way home. She regularly had to look for.
