Best friend: in Perm dogs help teach children to read

They decided to conduct an unusual experiment in Perm.

Employees of the children's city library opened Canis Therapist Centertic help. Furry four-legged pet therapists help children who have learning difficulties learn to read.

Canistherapy is a recognized method of treatment of various childhood conditions and diseases.

In Europe, dog therapists work in clinics and hospices for children, help dentists treat teeth for babies, next to the dogs, children feel more confident, their anxiety decreases and pain syndrome decreases.

In some countries, dogs are on duty around the clock in intensive care units and children's intensive care units of hospitals and clinics.

While on the basis of the library there are three doctor dogs.

Irish Terrier named Nick, Border Collie named Code and Sheltie Mona help teachers and remedial teachers in reading classes.

Those who manage to read what they could not read yesterday are allowed to play with the dogs, to stroke them. In a few weeks we managed to achieve amazing results - about 45% of children began to read better, and 20% of children who, due to various circumstances and diagnoses could not master a single letter, began to fold their first syllables.

Classes are held free of charge and for all comers.
