In St. Petersburg, are going to build a lighthouse for lost children

In St. Petersburg, plan to build five meter lighthouse for children. The construction of a unique structure is planned in the Porto Sevkabel.

The lighthouse will fulfill two functions at once - there will be an observation deck on it so that children can see the city from a height, and the lighthouse will help those who are lost. The light of the lighthouse will be visible from anywhere in the city. If the child or teenager is lost and will not be able to contact his relatives, he can simply move towards the lighthouse, where a specialist will be on duty around the clock to help him find parents.

Employees of an independent studio of architecture and arts and students of the “Society of Young Architects” will be engaged in construction.

Money for the project is collected by the whole world - donations are collected at city events, concerts and festivals.

Fundraising is on the Internet.

The cost of the project, by the way, is low - about 139 thousand rubles. With these funds will purchase construction materials. Builders for their work do not plan to charge.

The idea has no analogues in the world.. Such facilities exist mainly in bays and islands and they are intended for navigating ships, although today both ships and people use GPS, and lighthouses are preserved mainly as historical monuments and landmarks.
