The program of maternity capital in Russia want to extend until 2024

The Ministry of Labor declared that they want extend the maternity capital program until 2024. The corresponding proposal has already been drawn up on paper, and the document will soon be submitted to parliament for consideration.

The idea of extending the matkapital program will be considered within the framework of the state project on support for families with children, and it will last until 2024. The final decision on the issue of the timing of the maternity capital is planned for the third quarter of this year.

The initiative is fully supported by the Government of the Russian Federation, whose expert council calculated that due to the low birth rate in the 90s, the number of women who can now apply for a certificate should be reduced by 30%.

And it is precisely these savings that are planned to be spent on ensuring the extension of the matkapital program until 2024.

Recall, the maternity capital program was introduced in Russia in 2007, the right to have a certificate are families in which a second or subsequent child was born or adopted. The certificate is issued only once in a lifetime, it is possible to direct the funds provided for them to improve housing conditions, to form the mother’s pension, and also to pay for educational services for children. Not so long ago, it was allowed to pay for rehabilitation equipment for disabled children with the means of a certificate. The size in 2019 is 453 026 rubles. So far, the program has been legally established until 2021.

Extension of the program means that those who give birth or adopt a second baby before the end of 2024 will also be able to receive a certificate.
