Psychiatrists and psychologists told what toys it is dangerous to give to children for the New Year

The most beloved children's holiday is approaching - the New Year. Many parents are already thinking about what to give to children. Specialists at the Clinical Psychology Center told which toys to avoid so as not to undermine the mental health of the child.

They ranked most dangerous goods in children's stores in terms of the impact on the child's psyche. Parents are cautioned against buying these toys. Experts recalled that the toy has a certain mission - it should contribute to the development of imagination, creativity, and knowledge of the world around it. Unfortunately, today too many toys that move, make sounds, perform programmed actions, and thus do not leave the child any chance to develop imagination.

But there are toys that can form the wrong picture of the world, cause permanent damage to mental development.

Experts attributed to them:

  • Game Set "Operation - Cure Sam". The creators of the toy offer the child to undergo surgery. Even playing “picking” in the human body is not a child's activity, psychologists say. If the child likes to play in the hospital, it is better to buy him a doctor's kit with plastic thermometers, a phonendoscope and toy potions. There is no guarantee that especially inquisitive kids will not want to try to operate a domestic cat or dog after playing Sam. And she is alive.
  • Cannibal Monsters. The logic game, according to manufacturers, develops thinking and cognitive abilities. But psychologists are confused by the formulation of tasks in which the child is offered, in particular, “to force monsters to devour each other or another player.”
  • Monster High Dolls. At first glance, ordinary dolls, but still monsters. A coffin-packed doll or a zombie doll with an earthen complexion and a brutal expression on a doll's face is not the best friend for a baby. According to psychologists, the child distorts the normal perception of the beautiful and terrible. To what such a distortion can lead, we can only guess.

Barbie's long-legged beauties fired on the list, shooting long soft bullets. Psychologists believe that girls tend to form ideals in a playful way, and the unnatural figure of a doll can form an inferiority complex and a critical attitude toward oneself, even with a very slim girl.

Psychologists warn parents against the wrong approach, which is that the child is literally lit up with toys to compensate for the lack of love and attention, because mom and dad are always very busy.

On New Year's Day, experts suggest choosing gifts for children. age-appropriate, leaving room for creativity (modeling sets, cubes, constructor, sets for creating paintings or fridge magnets, etc.). Before buying a doll, look at her face - what emotions did the producers depict on it? Give children a positive.
