In the risk zone: Rospotrebnadzor warns of a future measles outbreak

Russian cities that will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup games are at high risk for measles incidence.

The sanitary doctors warned the Russians about this.

There is a big risk of getting sick due to the fact that thousands of foreigners will arrive in these cities, including from countries where the incidence of measles is increasing.

Due to the high risks that children are primarily exposed to, Rospotrebnadzor strongly recommends visiting a pediatrician with a child, donating blood for measles antibodies, checking for immunity in children and immunize them.

In Russia as a whole, the incidence of measles increased 4.5 times compared with last year. Most of all people (mostly children) fell ill in Moscow and the Moscow Region, in Dagestan, in the Chechen Republic.

Korea infection is rampant in several European countries - the incidence has increased threefold in England, Greece, Germany, Romania, Italy, Serbia, France and Ukraine.

Serbia and Ukraine have reported measles cases with severe complications. In each of these countries, five deaths were recorded.

The reason for the increase in the incidence of measles, according to sanitary inspectors, is the low coverage of routine immunization.

Measles is a dangerous viral disease that is transmitted like influenza or ARVI, airborne.

It affects only those who are not immune to the virus. Most often, children die from complications, among which the most common lesions of the central nervous system, as well as pneumonia.

Keep the baby from getting infected vaccination will help. It is made completely free.
