Parents "for": adults in Russia supported the idea of banning smartphones in schools

Smartphones have no place in school. Their and other electronic gadgets must be banned for use within educational institutions. This opinion was expressed by 73% of adult Russians. A public opinion poll on a burning issue was conducted by VTsIOM (All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center).

At the same time, about 70% of parents expressed a firm belief that the ban would lead to an improvement in the performance of children.

Prohibit smartphones, tablets and other technical innovations at school parents offer children of all ages - from first graders to graduates.

Surprisingly, the idea of a ban is supported by both parents and those who have no children at all.

Only 17% of respondents answered that bans will not change anything in the current situation.

Russia's Minister of Education, Olga Vasilyeva, changed her mind on this issue several times.

A year ago, she insisted on the introduction of a general ban on gadgets at school. This year, the official said she had nothing against the presence of students' smartphones, but recommended that schools to equip individual lockers in which to hide a tablet or smartphone before the start of the lesson and pick up at recess.

It is known that the idea of restricting the use of gadgets in particular and cellular communication in general for children is supported in the Ministry of Health. But so far the corresponding bill has not been submitted to parliamentarians for consideration.
