Birth certificate is an unnecessary piece of paper: in Russia it is proposed to switch to electronic registration of children

In modern society there is no longer a need to issue birth certificates, it will be better replace them with an electronic birth record.

This was stated by Konstantin Noskov, head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications.

When a new person is born, for parents comes period of running around - the baby needs to issue a birth certificate, make a medical policy, SNILS, have a card in the children's clinic.

In addition, the child needs to go and register at the place of residence, the parents begin to draw up the maternity capital, social service benefits with documents and registration data. All this requires a lot of time, collecting dozens of references and a long wait.

To save new parents from such bureaucratic fuss, Konstantin Noskov proposes to make only one important document - an electronic birth record.

On its basis, all the necessary organizations and will provide services to parents. For example, on the basis of the record, the Pension Fund will issue matkapital, and mom will only need to come and get it. In the same way, social bodies will accrue the allowances, similarly, you can receive both SNILS and medical insurance policy.

The head of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media presented his proposal to the Federation Council.

He stressed that innovation will not require any significant investments from the stateon the contrary, it will save money, because for electronic registration, no stamped paper with watermarks is required, which is often used for paper documents.
