In Russia, it is proposed to introduce a penalty for leaving the child in the car

The Code of Administrative Offenses may be supplemented by a new article imposing a large fine for leaving the child in the car.

This proposal was made by Andrei Shibaev, deputy chairman of the Moscow City Duma security commission. Capital officials decided to prepare a draft and submit it to colleagues from the State Duma.

Three years ago, the former children's ombudsman Pavel Astakhov called for the introduction of such fines.

But his arguments then remained unheard. Now Russia is essentially confronted with a mortal danger for babies - parents are increasingly leaving babies in cars in the heat. Children overheat, experience heat strokes and even die from the heat. In winter, babies left in the cabin may freeze.

It is planned to fine the parents of motorists for 5 thousand rubles for each case of leaving the child in the cabin.

Today, the Administrative Code has article 12.8, which prohibits leaving a child under the age of 7 years in the vehicle for the time of parking, but there is no separate responsibility for this.

Criminal liability is incurred for parents only in the event of the death of a child. To reduce the number of tragic cases, and proposed to toughen the punishment.

In different countries of the world, dozens of children die each year, which parents leave in their parking lots. Some newer cars, for example from Hyundai, are even equipped with a special passenger recognition system. If an adult tries to close the car with the child inside, the alarm will simply not allow it.

In Novosibirsk, passers-by had to rescue a baby from a foreign car cabin in July — people could get a baby by breaking the glass with an ax.

A month earlier, in one of the Polish casinos, a man was arrested, who enthusiastically played gambling while his child died in the heat in a locked car in a parking lot near a gambling establishment.
