Russian doctors are sounding the alarm: the number of people with measles has increased 3.5 times in the country

The Russian Ministry of Health and Rospotrebnadzor are sounding the alarm, informing the press service of the Ministry of Health of Russia on Wednesday that in Russia, the number of cases is rapidly increasing measles. Compared to last year, the number of people infected increased 3.5 times. A year ago, 725 cases of this dangerous infectious disease were recorded. This year already 2 538 people counted, and this is not the limit.

With what is associated with an increase in morbidity, experts say it is difficult. One of the most likely versions is non-vaccination by parents of young children. Measles in Russia was considered practically a defeated disease due to universal vaccination. But in Ukraine and in some European countries such vaccination was not in the National vaccination preventive calendars, and it was there that now individual outbreaks of measles have become real epidemics - the incidence is exceeded 15 times.

It is possible, according to Rospotrebnadzor, that in Russia the incidence is increasing due to migration from the same Ukraine, and usually children become children whose parents refused to be vaccinated.

Measles vaccination - the only way to protect against a dangerous infectious disease. This is a very contagious disease, and upon contact with a sick person or a carrier, 100% of unvaccinated children and adults will fall ill. A virus can do very well without a carrier, and with air currents it spreads over long distances.

Recently, a case of measles was discovered in Yekaterinburg. Now under the supervision of doctors is not only a child, but all the residents of the high-rise building in which the family lives. The measles virus loves to spread through ventilation systems. In Moscow, two schools are closed for quarantine due to the detection of measles by two students.

The virus causes a disease with a high temperature (above 40.0 degrees), an inflammatory process in the mouth, throat, nasopharynx, rash, and severe intoxication of the body. Disease of possible complications is dangerous, and their list is very large.

The Ministry of Health believes that supporters of the anti-vaccination lobby are to blame for the return of the seemingly forgotten disease.

Recall that in the State Duma a bill is being considered, according to which all those who distribute inaccurate information about vaccination will bear administrative responsibility. This applies to both journalists and mothers of “anti-vaccination hands” who distribute negative posts on the Internet, and doctors who give unreasonable withdrawals from vaccination to children or do not fully inform parents of the benefits of a particular vaccine.
