Hearing-impaired single mothers want to deny rights to children
Hard-of-hearing single mother from St. Petersburg they want to deprive two children only for the fact that the disabled woman did not hear the call at the door when the district pediatrician came and did not open the doctor.
Olesya Utkina has a hearing disability that, however, does not prevent her from raising two children alone. My daughter fell ill, and her mother called the doctor to the house. But no one discovered the pediatrician, because Olesya had a hearing aid broken on the eve of the events, and the woman simply did not hear the knocking and ringing.
Then the doctor rang the doorbell of the neighbors, who for some reason said that Olesya, "probably drunk asleep." A pediatrician has nothing left to do but to call the guardianship authorities and the police.
The guards took the woman to the department to write an explanation of what had happened, and when she returned home, it turned out that the guardianship officers had already taken two children and placed them in the children's hospital. It was not possible to take the mother’s children from there, the doctors said that the children would be in a state institution until the decision was made to temporarily limit the mother’s parental rights.
Mother sent for examination to a psychiatrist and a narcologist.
The trial is to take place on March 22. Social activists, lawyers, and volunteers have already stood up to protect children and mothers with poor hearing.
