Children on the Internet: The Federation Council intends to restrict children's access to the network

Members of the Federation Council of Russia proposed restrict internet access to children.

It is assumed that the ban should apply to search engines and social networks. The initiative has the “iron” motivation - the ban will make the lives of children somewhat more boring, but will allow them to preserve their mental, physical and emotional health.

The Commission of the Federation has prepared a document containing guidelines for the introduction of measures aimed at improving the safety of minors on the Internet.

While the document includes practical recommendations for seven categories of sites and resources - social networks, infosites, online services, posikovye systems and a number of others.

In particular, it is proposed to introduce privacy features so that children's search results remain inside the resource. In addition, the personal data of the child must be inaccessible to others. So, you should close geotags, phone number, school number where the child is studying, and his date of birth.

Senators also suggested registering children on websites and social networks only with the written consent of the parents.

The document includes measures to implement the development of parental control - mom and dad can, if they wish, keep track of the child’s contact lists, as well as learn about his whereabouts. Children under the age of 12 will have limited access to channels and communities containing content harmful to the development and psyche.

And one more innovation, which can not fail to please the parents - if the child tries to make a purchase on the Internet in the amount of more than 500 rubles, the administration of the online service will have to request when paying written consent to purchase parents. In the absence of such, the purchase will be denied.

The document has already been sent to the regions of Russia, where members of the local Public Chambers will make comments and corrections in it, after which the guidelines will be adopted.
