The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia proposed to increase some benefits from February 1, 2019. The draft law on indexing the ratio of payments, benefits and compensation by 3.4% is presented today on the state portal of normative acts.

The ratio will be 1.034 for many beneficiaries.

This means that the payments that are received by Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of Russia, full cavaliers of the Order of Glory, veterans, as well as children's allowances and allowances for the care of disabled children will grow up.

In addition to these categories, a maternity benefit will be increased by 3.4%, which is received by women who have been dismissed due to the liquidation of their organizations and enterprises. In the same amount, there will be an increase in lump-sum benefit when registering at antenatal clinic for pregnancy. The benefit that will be paid out at the same time at the birth of a child will increase.

Despite this measure, the increase raises many questions from economic experts. According to the forecast of the Bank of Russia, the rise in prices is, according to preliminary expert estimates, from 3.8 to 4.2%, and increase in benefits simply does not keep pace with prices creeping up.

Earlier it was reported about the upcoming increase in the amount of childcare allowance to one and a half years. From January 1, 2019, it and maternity leave payments will be increased, the minimum payment of maternity will be 4,500 rubles, and the maximum - 301 thousand instead of the previous 282 thousand rubles. This is due to an increase in the minimum wage to 11,280 rubles. from January of the coming year. The size of the care allowance for a child up to one and a half years from January will be 26 152 rubles a month instead of the previous 24 thousand rubles.
