Scientists have concluded - paracetamol during pregnancy is very dangerous for the baby

Scientists from the University of Edinburgh have concluded that paracetamol, which is the most common and popular anesthetic during pregnancy, is very likely negative impact on the status of the reproductive system of unborn babies, both boys and girls.

A detailed study was recently published in Environmental Health Perspectives and produced among doctors and pharmacists around the world real trouble.

Paracetamol is on the list of important life-saving drugs, it has been approved by the World Health Organization for treating children, and until that day WHO had allowed the drug in moderation to pregnant women.

A new study showed that paracetamol, drunk by a future mother, has a detrimental effect on the development of the genitals of boys, on the stock of eggs from girls who have not yet been born.

Also, scientists from Edinburgh have traced the relationship between having children with autism and attention disorders and taking paracetamol to their mothers during pregnancy.

To prove their findings, during the week, scientists exposed paracetamol and ibuprofen to fetal tissue samples from boys' testicles and girl's ovaries. Drugs reduced the number of germline cells 15 times, which then, at puberty, give rise to sperm production and egg maturation.

At the same time, paracetamol was less harmful - it reduced potential fertility by 40%, but ibuprofen - by 55%.

The second stage of the test was conducted on laboratory mice.

Rodents were transplanted with fragments of fetal tissue treated with these painkillers. Just one day of taking paracetamol reduced the number of germ cells (future sperm) by 17%. The use of the drug during the week reduced them by 30%.

The author of the study, Rod Mitchell, warned all pregnant women that from taking painkillers while they were expecting a child. better to abstain at all.

If you can not do without them, then the woman should take them very in small doses for a short time.
