Of two evils: scientists have concluded that children are harmful to remove tonsils

Adenoidectomy not in the best way affects the future of the child.

This conclusion was made by Russian scientists. They studied a large group of children who had glands removed in childhood, and noted that 95% of these children have much worse immunity and general health status by the age of 10-12 than children who were not given tonsillectomy.

The lymphoid tissue that the palatine tonsil and adenoids consist of performs an important immune function - protects the child from bacteria and viruses.

Lack of tonsils, thus, makes the child more vulnerable, the disease increases, complications are more severe.

Tonsil removal is one of the most common surgical methods of treatment in modern pediatrics.

It happened at the Soviet pediatric school, but scientists began to study the remote consequences of the removal of glands only now, when two whole generations grew up, which in childhood removed the tonsils. Such long-term effects have not been studied before.

Adults who grew up without tonsils, according to researchers from the First Medical Institute of Moscow, have more health problems. The most common problems with reproductive health, chronic diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
