Scientists have figured out how parental education affects children's future.

The level of education of mothers and fathers affects the future of the child to a greater extent than his own school performance. Such conclusions were made by Russian scientists, who conducted an interesting study at the HSE Institute of Education.

It is the factor of parental education that is sometimes decisive. for choosing which child to follow in the ninth and eleventh grades.

Wherein good and excellent grades in school are not the key to success, experts say. A family in which parents have a high level of education intuitively helps their child to make a strategic rational choice that will allow get a decent education even with low school scores.

And children from families where parents do not have the proper level of education, even with excellent performance in school, not always decided on a bold choice in the future, they agree "to the lesser", they easily give up the opportunities and prospects that are quite feasible for them and are available on the basis of the results of the school certificate.

The basis for such conclusions was the statistics - in 49% of ninth-grade students at least one of the parents has a higher education. And in the 10-11th grade, the number of children whose mom and dad (or someone alone) have a higher education diploma, is already growing to 62%.

Turns out that children from families where parents do not have higher education often leave school after grade 9Even under the condition that they are able to continue their school education according to their abilities, adequately pass the USE and enter the university.

Thus, it is the culture of the family and its attitude towards education in general that influences the choice of the child in the future.

The study is indirectly confirmed by the latest statistics: in 2018, only 33% of high school graduates submitted documents to universities with high passing scores. 55% of students applied to universities with average passing scores, and the rest chose low-selective universities, which can be reached with unimportant school performance and low exam scores.
