Thank you for your childhood: the children's writer Edward Uspensky died at the age of 80

At the age of 80, Russian children's writer Eduard Uspensky died. He died in his own house in the village of Puchkovo, Trinity Administrative District of Moscow.

Ouspensky is the author and "father" of the beloved children of Crocodile Genes, the postman Pechkin, the cat Matroskin and Sharik, the plasticine crow and many other characters with whom the very concept of "childhood" is strongly associated.

On August 10, 2018, Edward Ouspensky felt bad, he was called an "ambulance." He died on the evening of August 14th.

In the Moscow City Duma they said that they are ready to urgently consider the issue of building in the capital monument to the children's writer.

Friends called Ouspensky "a storyteller and dreamer" who always rebelled against any injustice. His characters, which grew up grandparents, mom-dads, and now growing up children and grandchildren, have become the same.

Most children and adults know his poems and cartoon quotes by heart.

The writer was born on December 22, 1937 in Yegoryevsk. Compose poems and funny stories by Edward started back in school years. Glory came only in the 60s, when Ouspensky began to publish as a humorous writer.

And only then he was able to realize the dream and created legendary children's characters.

But such scruples, his friends say, was related to the fact that he incredibly loved his “children” - characters, and with them he loved all children and childhood as a whole.
