According to the standards of care approved by the WHO and the Ministry of Health of Russia, neonatologists begin to provide resuscitation care to children who were born with a weight of 500 grams. If a baby with less weight appears during preterm labor, he is considered a miscarriage.
But doctors from Yekaterinburg were quite surprised that a child born on the 24th week of pregnancy gave signs of life. After that, leaving him to die with the experts did not raise a hand.
The pregnant woman was taken to the perinatal center of Yekaterinburg by ambulance; she had a threatening condition. It was decided to take a chance and make her a cesarean section.
To save the 370 g baby doctors of various specialties mobilized and united - resuscitators, neonatologists, anesthesiologists.
Now the girl is 4 months old. She weighs a little over 2 kilograms, she drinks from a bottle.

The baby, which the medical staff called Thumbelina, was discharged on June 21. The specialist considered that she could now go home with her mother, but warned that raising such a child - big testand parents will have to do a lot for the rehabilitation of their daughter.
