Women in Saudi Arabia have the right to independently choose the method of delivery

Future mothers in Saudi Arabia have the right to decide for themselves what way will their baby be born. Previously, it was mandatory to obtain written and certified consent from male guardians (husband, father, or brothers). Making a cesarean section or giving birth in a natural way is now a matter that a woman can solve alone.

The new law still gives a lot of relief for pregnant women. Previously, in order to find out from the doctor the expected date of birth, the sex of the child or other information about the course of pregnancy, the woman had to provide the doctor with a permit document signed by her husband, father or brother.

Without this paper, the pregnant woman could not find out from the doctor absolutely nothing, she would be denied access to the information. Now the expectant mother has every right and without the signature of a male guardian to find out everything that she needs from her doctor.

In addition, pregnant women were given the right to independently choose which of their relatives or friends would be next to them during childbirth. Previously, this issue was also resolved by male relatives.

New rules set by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia. Officials also felt that women could be allowed to move during childbirth - walk, sit. Previously, they only gave birth lying. At the same time, the movement in the first stage of labor (the period of contractions) significantly eases birth pain.

Ladies in Saudi Arabia in recent years have acquired incomparably more rights and opportunities. This was made possible by the social policy of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Women were allowed things never before seen - to attend football matches, to work in positions and specialties that were previously considered only men's, to drive a car. The husband can now divorce his wife by SMS.
