Brazilian for the first time in world history has given birth to a child after a uterus transplantation from a deceased donor

Brazilian authorities stated that their doctors managed to do something that so far no one in the world could do - they gave the joy of motherhood to a woman who was born without a womb.

The first child in world history, a woman who was able to endure after a womb was transplanted from a deceased donor, was born.

Earlier, similar medical experiments were carried out, but they were always unsuccessful. Sometimes the uterus transplantation from a living donor has been successful, but no one has yet managed to become pregnant and give birth to organs taken from a deceased donor.

A girl was born. Both mother and daughter feel well, according to local doctors.

32-year-old woman turned to doctors for help because she could not become a mother - she had no womb at birth. The rare Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome, in which the reproductive organs do not develop at all, did not leave her a chance for personal happiness.

First, the doctors had to persuade the patient for a uterus transplant for a long time, she was afraid and refused. An additional risk was that the organ was taken from a deceased donor. Therefore, there was no guarantee that he would take root. This operation was first proposed by the Swedes, who in 2014 even gave birth to a woman with a transplanted uterus, but the organ was then from a living donor. There are a total of 11 such cases in the world. The reproductive organ taken from the deceased donor has not previously been transplanted. The 45-year-old Brazilian woman who died of a stroke became a donor.

Surprisingly, the uterus caught on immediately. A woman underwent in vitro fertilization six months after transplantation and placed an embryo in the uterus. It was possible to get pregnant from the first attempt.

Childbirth in the clinic of São Paulo conducted by caesarean section. After the operation, the uterus was also removed so that the patient could concentrate on happy motherhood and was spared the need to continue to take drugs that would prevent the rejection of the reproductive organ.

The amazing experience of Brazilian transplantologists and reproductionologists struck doctors all over the world, and the victors themselves declared that they would soon have two more such operations, they were already planned. In fairness, we note that the ten previous attempts of doctors of the Czech Republic, Turkey, the United States to transplant the uterus from a deceased donor ended in failure.

The scientific community has already said that the Brazilians have done a real Christmas miracle - they gave a chance to all motherless women to become mothers, gave them hope.

If there is a big problem with the reproductive organs of living donors in transplant centers, the successful experience of Brazilian colleagues will give transplantologists of the planet the opportunity to find organs for transplant more quickly - the number of people around the world who do not object to humanity after their death grows .
