Baby does not eat lure

Hello, my child is 7.5 months (March 16, 2016). From birth, only breast milk is accepted - I did not give either a nipple or a bottle of water - I always gave water from a spoon. From 4-5 months she showed an active interest in adult food, but our pediatrician said to introduce supplements not earlier than 6 months, and when she turned 6 months in September she does not take any supplements - juices, fruit and vegetable puree, cereals (Nestle, Umnitsa , Baby, Bebi) - does not eat anything. What to do? How to introduce complementary foods if everything refuses?

Hello. There are many reasons why a child cannot or does not want to take complementary foods. It can be inflammatory diseases in the oral cavity, teething. There may also be psychological reasons: the child was frightened at the first feeding of something, or it was fed against his will. In the end, the child may simply not be hungry.

You should follow the nutritional status of the child well. Try to add complementary foods in the morning, starting with 0.5 teaspoon of fruit or vegetable puree and double the serving every two days, adding to breast milk if necessary. If mashed potatoes will be thick, then some experts recommend diluting it with breast milk for better absorption.

Also, during the introduction of complementary foods, positive reinforcement is needed, show the baby what to eat with a spoon - this is great, show by example, interest the child.

If within two weeks there will be no effect - contact your pediatrician at the place of residence.
