January 15 in Russia will start recording children in first classes

From Russian moms and dads January 15 will begin to accept applications for enrollment of children in the first classes of secondary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums. This will be the beginning of the first stage. Until June 30, it will be possible to submit an application to a school at your place of residence on any of the weekdays. The second wave of enrollment will take place from July 1 to September 5 - they will receive applications from parents of children who do not live in the territory assigned to the school.

From January 15, applications will be accepted from parents of children at the age of from 6.5 to 8 years. If the child is younger or older than the specified age range, the parents will have to decide the issue individually with the director of the chosen educational institution.

Documents to the school can be attributed as of February 1, 2019, provided that the child goes to school at the place of registration. Until July 1, classes will be formed, and only then those who do not belong to this school in their place of residence will be able to ask for them.

From January 15, parents of future first-graders can use the “Gosuslugi” portal to submit an application, or they can personally visit the school and write a corresponding petition. When submitting an application via the Internet, the answer will come to the e-mail or personal account of the portal “State Services”, after which the parents will be able to bring the original documents to the educational institution within a week.

What you need:

  1. parents' passports;
  2. baby's birth certificate;
  3. certificate of residence;
  4. child's medical policy;
  5. SNILS baby;
  6. TIN baby;
  7. four photos 3x4.

Schools, gymnasiums and lyceums do not have the right to require parents for money for enrollment, and are not authorized to arrange entrance tests and interviews for children.

If violations occur, parents can contact the city or district education department in their region. From January 15, a “hot line” will be open in each of them regarding the registration of children in the first grades.
