What do parents usually do if a child is sick: the results of social research

It is noteworthy that only 43% of parents call a doctor to the house, although they have every right to do so. 48% of moms and dads seek help from doctors only when the condition of the baby is more severe than usual with the disease.

Every third Russian mother goes to the hospital with a child. And for every fifth Russian karapuz who has fallen ill, the grandmother or grandfather come to sit.

It turned out that about 70% of parents trust the recommendations of pediatricians. More than half of moms and dads (54%) try to rely on their own experience in overcoming children's colds and acute respiratory viral infections, they also “consult” with the Internet. 13% of moms and dads seek advice in treating a child to grandparents, as well as other relatives from the older generation.

All types of warm and abundant drinking are favorite parental treatments.

75% of moms and dads are trying to feed the children. Despite appeals to refuse antiviral drugs because of their total inefficiency, 62% of parents buy such drugs for children. Almost as many try to provide frequent airing, and every second parent washes the child’s nose with saline.

Alternative medicine parents also remember, and one in three makes chad herbal tea. Milk with butter in the old-fashioned way prevents 31% of parents of sick children, 16% of parents make warm foot baths, and about 17% of moms and dads trust the good old mustard plaster.

When asked about how flu and ARVI are being prevented in the family, 43% of parents said that they cost frequent airing, almost as many said that they often wash their hands and teach the same thing to the child. But the flu vaccine was undeservedly forgotten. - only every fourth Russian family cares about timely vaccination of adults and children.
