Children under 7 years old want to make free travel on trains and commuter trains.

Children under seven years old were asked to do free travel in trains and commuter trains throughout Russia. Such a proposal was put forward by members of the State Duma Transport Committee.

Today, according to the existing legislation, travel for children of this age is free only on urban public transport.

The railway has its own rules: free ticket available only to kids under 5 years old. In some regions of the country, at the local level, they are trying to resolve this discrepancy with their own resources — they introduce subsidies for seven-year-old children. But now there is a need to equalize all regions in the children's right up to seven years to ride commuter trains and trains for free. Parliamentarians believe that this would be fair.

It is assumed that the bill will be considered next year, and if approved, the new rules will take effect in the spring.
