ONF experts called the most common types of fraud with matkapitalom

Experts of the Russian Popular Front (ONF) studied ways of maternity capital fraud and identified the most popular ones.

Most often, parents make bogus real estate transactions - allegedly “buying” housing from relatives, and also buying old emergency “wreck” at deliberately inflated prices. In both cases, the sellers give part of the money after the "cashing" back to their parents.

In third place are the "fictional children." Russian women apply for obtaining a certificate to the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation. They have not given birth to a second, third, or subsequent child, but for some reason they have all the necessary certificates and even a fake birth certificate. For a certain percentage of the amount in obtaining certificates, they are sometimes assisted by both health workers and officials of the social service departments.

Russian legislation for fraud with matkapital envisages a serious punishment - a fine of 120 thousand to a million rubles or imprisonment for a period of from four months to 10 years.

In addition, the violator will have to return the money received from the state illegally.

Last year, 2310 people were brought to trial for fraud with the maternity capital and received a well-deserved punishment.

Recall that the legal use of maternity capital implies:

  • improvement of family living conditions;
  • directing funds to the funded part of the mother’s pension;
  • education of one of the children;
  • purchase of rehabilitation tools for children with disabilities.

The amount of matkapitala today - 453 thousand 26 rubles. In 2020, it is planned to increase, index, taking into account inflation.
