What name to give the child in 2019?

Sociologists and statisticians answered the ever-burning question of how can you name a child who will be born in the coming 2019. They carefully studied the civil registry offices of the country over the past year, analyzed the choice of moms and dads and identified the most popular and sought after names among Russian parents.

When choosing names for newborn sons and daughters, Russians are now looking for names with a rich history and cultural component, less likely to be distinguished by originality. About a third of moms and dads call their children in honor of grandmothers and grandfathers.

The boys who will be born this year can be called one of the following names, the most sought-after a year ago: Ivan, Misha, Artem, Maxim. The most popular, as a year earlier, was the name Alexander.

The top ten were both Daniel and Dmitry, as well as Cyril and Andrey.

Nikita, Mark, Alexey - names that were popular not so long ago, now only close the end of the list. Among the original names - Polycarp, Svyatopolk and Domislav. The most strange sociologists have named names: Aramis, Donald and Iago. But maybe someone will like them too.

Sophia became the undisputed leader among female names, Masha immediately follows her. Popular are Anna, Alice, Victoria, Polina, Nastya, Alexandra, Katya.

Milana, Eva, Arina and Kira, who were not so long ago at the peak of their popularity, have now gone to the very end of the list.

Unusual names were Ladislava, Dobromir, Ladomira. And the strangest names were called Muse and Spring.

Sociologists recommend parents consider something in between popular and unpopular names, for example, recently Natasha, Helen, Ol, Irin, Lyudmil have become scarce, Denisov, Antonov, Nikolaev, Ilyush, Olegov and Sergeyev are not so many.

Such names will help the child not to become one of a dozen namesake in a class or kindergarten group, and also relieve him of surprised looks and offensive nicknames if parents decide now to choose an original name like Donald, Matilda or Mstislava.

And certainly neither psychologists nor sociologists advise calling children the names of their idols. Last year, one Dzyuba (name), one Putin (name), and even one Neymar (name) were born in Russia. Time passes, idols change, and the child with the name will live on, and then the grandchildren and grandchildren will carry this middle name. Experts recommend this not to forget, choosing a name for the baby.
