An unusual experiment: in Krasnoyarsk, kindergarten students became teachers for their autistic peers

An unusual experiment was decided in Krasnoyarsk.

In the kindergarten, which, among the rest, is attended by 11 children diagnosed with autism, “delayed speech and mental development,” healthy pupils took on the role curators their own inclusive peers.

Initially, four of the kindergarten students expressed a desire to help children with disabilities. Then they were joined by other guys.

At first, the caregivers did not know how to relate to this, and then decided to adopt the practice of tutors - accompanying and companions.

Now, healthy pupils are “assigned” to children with severe disorders of speech, coordination, memory, and perception.

With their peers, inclusive kindergarten students more willing to contact. True, how the interaction takes place is observed by teachers and a psychologist. Kids teach their "wards" to drawing, games, together with them they make music and dance.

It is planned that at the end of this experiment, inclusive children will go to study not in correctional schools, but in the most ordinary ones, where their “curators” will go.

Two ministries became interested in the experiment at once - health and education. If the results of the experience are considered successful, the practice of voluntary tutors can be introduced in other kindergartens across the country.
