Russian fathers will get their holiday

The head of the State Duma Committee of the Russian Federation dealing with the problems of families, children and women, Tamara Pletneva initiated the submission to the parliament of the country of the draft Federal Law, which implies introduction of a new national holiday - Father's Day.

It is planned to celebrate it at the end of October annually.

Today is the day of all popes celebrated in some regions at the end of October on their own initiative, there is no official triumph.

On this day, festive concerts and awarding of the medal "For loyalty to fatherly duty" is held in the regions.

In order to emphasize the importance of fathers in raising children, to raise the prestige of fatherhood in general, it is proposed to introduce a holiday at the national level.

It is not yet clear whether Father's Day in Russia will be a day off, such an issue is not raised in the bill. But if the document is adopted without amendment, the celebration of this day will be set on Saturday, the last in October.
