Russian schoolchildren offered to transfer to a five-day school week

In the State Duma of Russia, they thought about why children “work” more than adults, and their share falls on a six-day school week, while their parents have a working week for the most part - five days. It is proposed to transfer students to the "five days". The author of the proposal was made by the deputy and father of many children Vitaly Milonov.

In his proposal, Milonov pointed out that new subjects are introduced in schools, the number of teaching hours is growing, and therefore the load on the children's organism is growing. If at the same time, the boys and girls also take away the Sabbath, which can be used for rest and recovery, then it is not surprising that schoolchildren are often sick and very tired.

Vitaly Milonov set forth his thoughts in an official letter addressed to the Minister of Science and Education, Olga Vasilyeva.

According to the deputy, such a thing as a family vacation and weekend tourism almost disappeared from a six-day school week in Russia — one day for a trip to a neighboring city, on a tour, to a country house, to the forest, overnight with parents, of course, is not enough. In addition, the teachers set homework for the weekend, and in fact on Sunday the child continues the learning process at home.

Milon intends to initiate the appropriate bill after coordination of a number of issues with the Ministry of Science and Education.

Recall that today only elementary school students are eligible for a five-day school week. For all the others, there is a six-day school week. In some regions, at the local level, a decision was made to shorten the school week, for example, such a decision was recently made in Buryatia.
